Kids or pets inside? Call 911 first
Santee runs ten to fifteen degrees hotter than the coast, and a parked car in the Trolley Square lot in August is an oven within minutes. If a child or a pet is inside, call 911 before you call us. Fire and police can be there faster than any locksmith and will not wait for one. Then call us. We will still head your way, and if first responders already have the door open when we arrive, tell us and we turn around.
How we open your car without damage
Modern doors have side-curtain airbags, wiring looms and lock rods in exactly the places a slim-jim finds first. We do not carry one. For most cars we set an inflatable wedge at the top corner of the door, slide in a padded reach tool and press the unlock button or pull the handle, the same technique roadside programs use, without touching the paint or the weatherstrip.
On trunks, older vehicles and anything with a dead battery, we pick the door or trunk cylinder with a Lishi tool that reads the wafers instead of forcing them. Either way there is no drilling, no bent frame and no scratch, and you drive off with the same key you had this morning.
What we'll ask when we arrive
Before we open anything we ask for photo ID, and once you are in, the registration or insurance card so the name matches the car. This is the tell of a legitimate locksmith. If someone pops a door for you without asking who you are, that is a company you do not want holding your address later. If your wallet is locked in with the keys, no problem: we verify after the door opens and before we leave.

Keys in the trunk, push-to-start fob inside, or keys lost?
A trunk lockout on most cars ends the moment a door is open: the trunk release or a folding rear seat does the rest. A few sedans isolate the trunk when the car is locked, and for those we pick the trunk cylinder directly. A push-to-start car with the fob inside opens the same way as any other door, and the car will wake up as soon as it sees the fob again.
If the key is not in the car at all, you do not need an unlock. You need a new key. Lost every key? We make new ones where the car is. Locked out of the house instead? We do that too.
